Grand Master Chris Ivanoff

Chris Ivanoff has been running Lone Wolf Taekwondo for decades. He has been a dedicated and amazing teacher for hundreds of athletes. Throughout Lone Wolf and other schools he is known as a friend and mentor. What does Grand Master mean? Those who hold a 7th – 9th dan are considered grandmasters. This rank also holds an age requirement of 40+ .

More about Chris

Grandmaster Chris Ivanoff is a 7th Dan black belt in Taekwondo certified with the Kukkiwon in Seoul Korea and the Olympic Center in Colorado,Springs USA. and 4th dan in Yongmudo International Yongmudo Association Seoul Korea.  He’s been studying under the direction and guidance of Dr. Ken Min and Dr. Russel Ahn Chief Instructor / director of the University of California Berkeley Martial Arts Program as well as instructing martial arts for 40+ years.  He’s the owner and Chief Instructor at Lone Wolf Martial Arts in Powell Wyoming. Grandmaster Chris Ivanoff has instructed hundreds of self defense classes to many organizations over the past four decades.  

He recently retired from the Park County Sheriff’s Office as a patrol deputy for more than 25 years.  During that time, his duties included: detention deputy, investigator, SWAT team member (15 years), Less Lethal, Custody Control and Officer Survival Instructor.  

Grandmaster Ivanoff is also an accomplished metal artist who owns Rising Sun Studios.  He creates works of two and three-dimensional art that includes metal contemporary tables and indoor / outdoor sculptures.  Many of his sculptures and art creations are on display through private and commercial installations throughout the world.  

In his spare time, he and his wife enjoy exploring the mountainous area surrounding Yellowstone National Park where they reside.  He likes to say, “it’s not what you can accomplish in a year, month or a week, it’s what you can accomplish in 24 hours.”  

Grandmaster Ivanoff gives great thanks for having Taekwondo and Yongmudo in his life and the opportunity to share this positive activity that’s been handed down for thousands of years to others in his community.  He say’s one of the greatest enjoyment of teaching martial arts is inspiring minds young and old that want to learn and seeing them happy from learning a talent which in tern creates self-respect.
